STIRFRIED TIN CHAT (CHINESE VIOLET)
Tin Chat Vegetable (a.k.a. Chinese Violet or Madeira Vine) is rich in iron. When cooked, the leaves are silky smooth and slightly slippery in texture. Get them at the Sunday Market organised by Restoran Istimewa Lai-Je at 15 Jalan Temenggung 5/9, Bandar Mahkota Cheras, Cheras, Selangor
1 packet tin
chat leaves
3 cloves
garlic
¼ tsp salt
1 tbsp
coconut oil
Method
1. Wash the tin chat leaves and drain.
2. Peel and cut garlic cloves in two.
3. Heat coconut oil in wok and add
garlic and salt. Fry 2 minutes.
4. Add tin chat leaves and stir well.
Cover and allow cook 2 minutes. Stir again and cover 1 minute.
5. Serve hot.
